My name is Igor Dmitruk, and I have been a professional editor and translator since 2006. I currently live in Europe, and my main working languages are English and Portuguese (Brazil), but I also work with Italian and German as source/reference languages.
I specialize in medical, pharmaceutical, and regulatory documentation. My main clients are Contract Research Organizations (CROs), for whom I have edited and translated thousands of documents such as:

I have a BA in English from the Federal University of Santa Catarina and I have been a full member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) in the UK since 2013, the year in which I received my exam-based certification in Medicine and Pharmaceuticals. I am also a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading and of the American Translators Association.
Finally, my professional interests also involve technical communication. I’m always looking to learn more about communicating complex information in a manner that is clear and accessible to a broad audience. So this blog is also an exercise in technical communication, and I hope it can provide meaningful contributions to the global community of language professionals.
In my free time, I play the Renaissance lute. I’m especially fond of early 16th century repertoire.
